2nd call - Join us for the 4th International ISEKI_Food Conference, Vienna, Austria, 6 – 8 July 2016
The 4th edition of the ISEKI_Food Conferences, where up to 300 participants are expected, will take place at the University of Natural Life Sciences (BOKU).
Some of the invited speakers (in alphabetical order) have already confirmed: Hugo de Vries (Joint Research Centre IATE of INRA, CIRAD), Jan de Vries (nutrition solutions), Marc Dryer (Nestlé), Martin Hablesreiter (honey&bunny productions), Henry Jäger (BOKU), Francesco Marra (University of Salerno), Karl-Heinz Wagner (Austrian Nutrition Society), .....
Abstracts are welcome to the following topics:
- Education and Training in the Food sector: trends and developments
- Food Technology: process innovation, novel food functionalities and virtualization in food engineering
- Food Quality and Safety: new developments
- Food by-products: reduction and utilisation
- Nutrition: trends and impact of food technology
Responsible Research and Innovation: challenges and practices in the food supply chain
Please note the deadline for abstract submission: 15 March 2016. Several sponsored awards for best contributions will be available.
All abstracts will be included in the conference Book of Abstracts (with ISBN number) that will be edited and distributed to all the conference participants. The e-book of Abstracts will be indexed by FSTA - Food Science and Technology Abstracts.
The ISEKI_Food conferences organization has achieved the important goal of offering the possibility of publishing on special issues of Journal of Food Engineering and International Journal of Food Studies. Authors of selected abstracts will receive an invitation in due time, and manuscripts will follow the usual review process of these journals.
A special session “Technologists meet Nutritionists” will be focusing on “Healthgrain”. Another session will deal with virtualization as tool for minimizing food and energy waste.
The Conference starts with several preconference workshops:
- A training workshop on “Food Waste Recovery” where innovative technologies will be discussed.
- The ISEKI_Food PhD Workshop “Industry meets Academia” will include invited experts from research and industry and PhD students will have the opportunity to present work related to a sustainable improvement of food quality and safety.
- In another PhD workshop on “Water & Food Dialogue” PhD students could present their work related to topics on drinking water, utility and waste water in the food industry.
- The FooD-Studies&Training Alliance project ( https://www.food-sta.eu/) will present the “Food-STA center" o the Food industry, followed by a training workshop, organized by the FP7 project on traditional food ( http://www.trafoon.eu/), aiming at fostering entrepreneurship dedicated to food researchers, which will present innovative tools and motivate potential entrepreneurs to innovate their business.
