Marin Rose

Learning Beyond Silos: Critical Thinking for Collaborative Food System Governance

Asst. Professor at University of Copenhagen and co-coordinator of the EU-funded CLEVERFOOD project, she contributes a cross-cutting perspective bridging academia, the public sector, SMEs, and multi-actor partnerships. Committed to inclusive food system transformation, she believes that lasting change depends on diverse voices collaborating toward a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable future. Her teaching emphasizes innovation in higher education by fostering critical thinking, systems perspectives, and PBL for sustainable food system transitions. Beyond academia, Marin chairs Foodprint Nordic, a NPO advancing regenerative agriculture through cross-sector collaboration and farmer-led innovation platforms and contributes to national and EU-level grant evaluation and advisory work.

Head of Learning & Development for the Agri-Food Co-operative Sector, with overall responsibility for talent development and human capital support. Holds a Master’s in Strategic Learning and Development and Organisational Behaviour, along with multiple professional certifications in behavioural, motivational, emotional intelligence, and competency analysis. Extensive experience leading sector-specific training initiatives, contributing to future skills expert groups, representing industry at national and international levels. Actively involved in European projects focused on future skills, workplace competencies, and digital tools for the agri-food sector.

Biotechnological Valorisation and Functional Innovations for Sustainable Food Systems: From By-Products to Bioactive Compounds and Psychobiotics

Professor of Food Science and Technology at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and President of the University Senate. Research focuses on sustainable and innovative food biotechnologies and the development of resilient food systems through academic and industry collaboration. Actively involved in national and EU-funded projects. Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy and member of Academia Europaea. His work integrates scientific rigor with science communication and education to advance sustainable food systems.

Akos Jozwiak

People's readiness for AI: Will AI replace experts? And what can we do about it?

Head of Food and Nutrition Science at the Syreon Research Institute (Budapest) and faculty member at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. Leads the Foodome Hungary Research Group (HUN-REN) and coordinates the DEFENSEFOOD Horizon Europe project. Active member of EFSA advisory bodies, chairing the Advisory Group on Data. Expertise focuses on food safety and regulatory science, including data-driven risk and benefit assessment, identification of emerging risks, evidence synthesis, and the application of advanced analytics and AI to support food system decision-making.

Diana Bougeva

Are consumers the problem or the solution? Rethinking responsibility in sustainable food systems

Researcher specialising in sustainable food systems, consumer behaviour, and alternative proteins. Has led national and international projects across food policy, ethics, and environmental sustainability, with a focus on sustainable food consumption, marketing, and emerging food technologies. Collaborates with academia, industry, and policy stakeholders to translate research into impact. Recipient of major honours, including the Gourmand and PROSE Awards. President of the Global Harmonization Initiative and Research Fellow at the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute.
